500 YEARS of Funchal City Award
1508-2008
2008 is an year to celebrate. 1508 was the year of the Capital city of Madeira Island Arch. foundation.
To comemorate this event the ARRM, in association with other entities will promote a Special Award.

CT9F - Ponta do Pargo Lighthouse Activation

CT9F - S. Jorge Lighthouse Activation
A group of ARRM members activated the S. Jorge Lighthouse on the 21 and 22 of January 2006. This Lighthouse counts for different awards like WLOTA - Ref LH0053, and for the Portuguese Lighthouse Awards MAD008 and MA005, and also for the ARLHS MAD005L. The operators were be CT3FN/HB9CRV HB9BQL and any other member of our radioclub .We could reach the 3.847 QSO's in 40 hours of operation. We would like to thank all that made a contact with us and also to all the colaborators in this activaction. Speccial Thanks to the Ministery of Defence of Portugal, represented by the Capitão de mar e Guerra Raúl Mourato Ramos Gouveia, and the Lighthouse Keeper, Mr. Calaça for all the help and support.

Anual Christmas Dinner Of the ARRM
Last Friday 9th of December took place the Annual Dinner celebrating Christmas period, for the members of the ARRm, and their families. With about 60 guests the menu was composed by the traditional "Espetada" and the "Espada fish Filet". It was an excellent opportunity to have on the same table the members of the club and also theis families or guests.
The borading of ARRM wishes to thank all the members present, and we sincerily hope this participation will increse in future events. You can see the pictures on the Photo Page

The ARRM celebrated during 2004 the
25th birthday osd the declaration of Public Utility by the Government of
Madeira Island. To comemorate this date there will be some activities to
announced.
The first activity took place in the week end of 29 to 30 of May. Our guest operator CT1BOH- José operated the CQ WW WPX CW 2004 as Single operator- All band hight power. In association with the NCDXF and The IARU Beacon program, and the Madeira Team contesting Group the callsign for this operation was CS3B, normaly used in the Beacon located in Madeira Island.
With this activity our main objective was to use this call for people to know better the Beacon project as well as NCDXF and IARU project, finnaly to put the name of our Region on the air.

One again the ARRM was present in the Jamboree on the air. This time the
2004 edition. In association with the local boyscount we assembled a station
in their headquartes between 2300 local time on the 15th of October till
18.00 Local time of Sunday 17. The operators were CT3KU, CT3DL, CT3CF, CT3KT
and CT3EE.The call used was CT9EPM, and there were made a copple of thousand
opf contacts in the different modes, as well as some explanations of the
radioamateur activities to the young boys present on the event.
